Magistrates Court Demolition : Lewes
This is the Lewes Magistrates Court undergoing demolition during the Summer of 2015 by the Gbm Uk demolition company. See the Urban Exploring view here. In its place will be a Lewes Premier Inn which will be called The Old Courtroom which will have been built by Jessops Construction Ltd. Watching the Lewes Magistrates Court being demolished during the two months that it took the Gbm Uk demolition company was fascinating and I learnt a lot about the method and science behind a building demo.

Soft Strip
After the soft strip at the beginning of June 2015, Demolition work proper started on 17th June 2015 initially with a single Volvo 480 Excavator and around 300 hundred loads of 20 ton tipper trucks of rubble (6000 Tons) and 25 loads of 20 ton tipper trucks of metal (500 Tons) was removed. The demo was pretty much completed by 4th August 2015 with the build of the Lewes Premier Inn by Jessops Construction able to commence in early September 2015.
